The Liberation Initiatives are fuelled by a passionate, diverse team, dedicated to creating genuine, positive reform.
The Liberation Initiatives is a force for systematic change against the social & economic disadvantages faced by marginalised communities.
By partnering with organisations across the UK, The Liberations Initiatives is making activism approachable and accessible. It is paving the way for companies that are committed to making positive change by mentoring them through much-needed internal changes and connecting them with charities and initiatives that share our common goal of a more just and fair future for everyone.
The Liberation Initiatives is taking action to educate, motivate and challenge others to foster practices that will re-balance the state of diversity, equality and inclusion in today’s society.
Take our pledge and, together, let’s create genuine, positive reform.
The state of social play
The inequalities are there and are not going away. It’s time to stop talking and to take action. Let us guide you through the steps we can take to dissolve them through our Pledge Programme and the Key Initiatives we have founded, all supporting marginalised communities
Ubuntu:
I am because we are
The African philosophy Ubuntu is based on the concept of interdependence and states that we are all interconnected. With no literal translation in other languages, Ubuntu essentially translates to “I am because we are” and recognises that one’s well-being is inextricably linked to the well-being of everyone. As such, the action - or inaction - of an individual has a direct effect on society as a whole.
2020 was a wake-up call and united communities around the world – people wanted to send a simple, clear and unequivocal message: there is no place for racism, prejudice or hatred.
The killing of George Floyd, and the many appalling events that came before, and sadly after, can no longer be ignored. People are now committed to fighting inequalities, bringing about serious change, and most importunately, setting a precedent for future generations.
Like us, the people and organisations we work with are dedicated to realising the philosophy of Ubuntu in their own practices and beyond, will you join us?
